Ben Carlson was a Newport Beach Lifeguard that died in the line of duty July 6, 2014. Ben exhibited an exceptional work ethic, love of the ocean, compassion, athleticism, and scholastic performance. The Ben Carlson Memorial and Scholarship Foundation hopes to create a sustainable legacy through scholarship, ocean safety, and philanthropy. 

 The prone 14'0 paddleboard is great for lakes, harbors, bays and oceans. Great for the everyday paddler who wants to put in some miles or the competitor who wants glide and stability for your local race. With a flat bottomand high volume rails the board is very stable and easy to knee paddle. 

The XL is our most stable board designed for larger paddlers or those looking for the most stability in open ocean conditions. Our newly refined shape has a larger nose, wider tail and added nose rocker making it the most comfortable board in the series.

VESL’s latest line is carefully crafted after years of fine tuning the construction of our high performance prone. Our Lite, Standard, Large, and XL prone boards all have newly refined shapes that will allow you to reach new levels on the water. Improvements include a slightly rounder bottom for faster glide, volume distributed to the nose and tail for more stability, and added nose rocker for ocean paddling. VESL’s technology that goes into the construction will give it’s rider a faster, stable and more comfortable experience.

The Ben Did Go 7.0 is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 17, 2022. An epic event that was started by Spencer Pirdy in 2015, has become an annual athletic challenge that continues to grow every year, as watermen and women prone paddle 30 miles through the Channel from Catalina to Newport Beach, to raise funds for
